There are many superpowers. The usage of the word superpower includes economic prowess, social and cultural regard, quality of health, superior education, well managed and supported military, and astute diplomacy. The United States must remodel itself some in order for other nations to emulate. Otherwise, you are talking about being a legend in your own mind, disconnected from reality when you state no need to apologize. Just ask the world! As a superpower, we have the obligation to treat our cohorts with respect and acknowledge their resources. We DO have to apologize for the previous administration's lack of tact and wholesale supposition of what amounts to fealty from the EU. If they didn't give it by threat or innuendo, then they were not with us according to Bush . At least Obama has done what all other previous leaders have done, which is state our need with recognition of our status as opposed to the converse: stating our status and demanding our need.
